**ASPI** (Automatizovaný Systém Právních Informací) is Wolters Kluwer's flagship Czech legal database. On the market for around 30 years, it's among the longest-running Czech legal-information systems and one of the "big three" alongside Beck-online and Codexis.

## Subscription tiers

Wolters Kluwer sells ASPI in three tiers. **ASPI Standard** is the foundation; **ASPI Profesionál** is positioned at law firms and corporate legal departments and carries a three-year update guarantee on newly published Wolters Kluwer commentaries; **ASPI Expert** goes deepest on content. Libra searches whatever your firm's tier includes and nothing beyond it.

The tier is not what lets Libra connect to ASPI in the first place — that is a separate permission Wolters Kluwer sets on your account, described under Setup below.

## What you can ask

* *"Find the consolidated time-version of § 2079 občanského zákoníku as of a given date and the leading Supreme Court judgments interpreting it."*
* *"What is the current commentary view on liability for damages under § 2910 OZ?"*
* *"What does Czech case law say about restrictive covenants in employment contracts?"*
* *"Find commentary on recent changes to Czech competition law."*

## Setup

Connect via **Settings → Integrations** using your firm's ASPI credentials — the connector is listed as **ASPI**, *Czech legal research*. Once it is connected, the source appears in the chat **Research** picker as **ASPI (CZ)**, and you switch it on per question like any other source — see [Research mode](/en/features/chat/research-mode). The flow is the same for every source — see [Setting up integrations](/en/integrations/setup).

<Note>
  An ASPI subscription on its own is not enough. Wolters Kluwer also has to enable Libra access on the ASPI account, and Libra reads that permission out of the sign-in token. Without it, sign-in completes but the connection stops on a **CONTENT ACCESS REQUIREMENT** screen — *"You're signed in — but we can't find active content to use in Libra"* — offering **Get a subscription**, **Contact support** and **Back to Libra**. If you hit that with ASPI credentials that otherwise work, ask your firm administrator to have Wolters Kluwer switch Libra access on for the account. Moving to a higher ASPI tier does not do it by itself.
</Note>

## Combining with other sources

| Question type               | Best combination                                                                   |
| --------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Pure Czech legal research | **ASPI** alone. |
| Czech + EU harmonised topic | ASPI + **[European Union Case Law](/en/integrations/european-union/eu-case-law)**. |
| Cross-border CZ + SK        | ASPI + **[ASPI (Slovakia)](/en/integrations/slovakia/aspi)**.                      |

## Tips

<AccordionGroup>
  <Accordion title="Cite the section by paragraph">
    *"§ 2079 OZ"* / *"§ 420 občanského zákoníku"*: Czech lawyers cite by paragraph, and ASPI is structured around them.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Use time-versions when the date matters">
    For matters where you need the law as it stood at a specific date, name the date; ASPI's time-versioning surfaces the right text.
  </Accordion>

  <Accordion title="Combine with EU Case Law for harmonised topics">
    Pair ASPI with **[European Union Case Law](/en/integrations/european-union/eu-case-law)** for any topic involving harmonised EU regulation.
