# Dutch public sources

> Wetten.nl, Officiële bekendmakingen and Rechtspraak.nl: Dutch legislation, official publications and case law, straight from the government's own portals. Free, included.

Three official Dutch portals are free research sources in Libra: **Wetten.nl** for legislation, **Officiële bekendmakingen** for official publications and **Rechtspraak.nl** for case law. Nothing to subscribe to and nothing to connect.

![Libra mascot presenting](https://mintcdn.com/libra-4206ec93/wgVZXcGnHS4aJk9T/assets/images/libra-buddy/presenting.png?fit=max\&auto=format\&n=wgVZXcGnHS4aJk9T\&q=85\&s=db41075b4a259a172f68465ae5c3421e)

Tick **Rechtspraak.nl** next to **Wetten.nl** when the question is how a court reads a provision, such as the *redelijke grond* for dismissal in art. 7:669 BW. One answer then cites the article and the judgments on it.

## What each source covers

Each one appears as its own entry in the **Research** panel, under the **Netherlands** jurisdiction.

| Source | What Libra searches there |
| - | - |
| **Wetten.nl** | Consolidated Dutch legislation: acts, regulations and treaties, as published by the government. |
| **Officiële bekendmakingen** | The government's official publication portal: announcements, legislation, regulations and parliamentary documents. |
| **Rechtspraak.nl** | Published judgments of the Dutch courts, from the judiciary's own website. |

## How they work with your subscriptions

The public sources are a fallback for the Wolters Kluwer sources your firm subscribes to. When [InView Legal](https://docs.libratech.ai/en/integrations/netherlands/inview-legal.md), [InView Tax](https://docs.libratech.ai/en/integrations/netherlands/inview-tax.md) or [Legal Intelligence](https://docs.libratech.ai/en/integrations/netherlands/legal-intelligence.md) covers the question too, Libra searches that first.

It turns to a public source when no subscribed source covers the topic, or when the subscribed ones return nothing useful. Without a subscription, the public sources are what Libra searches.

## What you can ask

* *"Wat zegt art. 7:670 BW over het opzegverbod tijdens ziekte?"*
* *"Find the parliamentary documents on the latest change to the Wet op de ondernemingsraden."*
* *"Which recent judgments deal with the transitievergoeding after long-term illness?"*

Ask in whatever language you work in. The sources themselves are in Dutch, so a Dutch term of art, such as *ontslag op staande voet*, keeps Libra searching on your wording.

## Setup

Nothing to connect. All three are **Included**, with no add-on and no credentials. They appear in the **Research** panel as soon as **Netherlands** is one of your workspace's jurisdictions; tick the ones you want, as with any source. See [Research mode](https://docs.libratech.ai/en/features/chat/research-mode.md).
