Kleos is Wolters Kluwer’s practice-management system. The spring release adds a simple Kleos integration in Libra: from any project’s Documents panel, you can browse your Kleos files and copy them straight into the Libra project. No more downloading and re-uploading.
This integration requires a Kleos Advanced or Advanced+ subscription. If your firm is on a different Kleos package, the integration won’t be available — check with your firm administrator.Your firm must also assign permission to use Libra in Kleos. In Kleos, go to SettingsLicences, select a user, then assign the Libra licence. For the official requirements, see the Kleos Libra FAQ.

The copy is one-way, Kleos to Libra, a snapshot, not a live link. Re-copy when the matter file moves on, or you’ll review yesterday’s SPA.

How to use it

1

Open the Documents panel

In any project, click Documents in the sidebar.
2

Click Documents → Add from Kleos

The Documents button opens a menu with upload sources, including Add from Kleos.
3

Confirm your Libra licence in Kleos

Before you connect Libra, your Kleos administrator must assign your user the Libra licence in Kleos: go to SettingsLicences, select your user, then assign the Libra licence.
4

Sign in to Kleos (first time only)

A Kleos sign-in window opens. Use your usual Kleos credentials. Libra remembers the connection for future copies.
5

Browse Kleos

Libra shows the Kleos folder structure. Navigate to the matter or folder containing the files you want.
6

Select files

Tick the files you want to copy. Multi-select is supported.
7

Click Copy to project

Libra copies the files into the Libra project’s Documents panel. Processing happens in the background; the files become searchable, citable, and usable in chat once they finish indexing.

What you can do with copied files

Once a Kleos file is in your Libra project, it behaves like any other document.

Run a ReviewPick the file when starting a Review.
Include in a DiscoveryAdd to a Discovery’s document list.
Organise into foldersDrag-and-drop in the Documents panel. See Folder structure.

What’s not in this release

The spring-release Kleos integration is intentionally narrow. A few things you might expect aren’t yet supported:
Not in this releaseWorkaround
Bidirectional sync (Libra → Kleos)Download from Libra, upload to Kleos manually.
Live links between a Libra document and its Kleos sourceRe-copy from Kleos to refresh.
Push notifications when Kleos files changeRe-copy from Kleos when you need the latest version.
These may come in future releases.

Tips

Drop Kleos files into the right project folder right after copying. Don’t accumulate them in the project root.
A Kleos file can change after you copied it. For matters where the latest version matters, re-copy before doing important analysis.
Kleos is your firm’s practice-management source of truth. Libra is where you analyse, draft, and research. Don’t mistake Libra for the long-term filing system.
Your Kleos integration depends on your firm’s Kleos subscription and your individual Kleos credentials. If the integration doesn’t appear, ask your firm administrator about access.

Troubleshooting

Confirm your Kleos credentials work directly on the Kleos website. If those work but the integration fails, your firm may have SSO restrictions that need an administrator’s help.
Large files take a few minutes to process. Check the Documents panel; processing files show a progress indicator.
Permissions in Kleos carry over: you can only copy files you have access to read in Kleos. If you can’t access a file in Kleos, the integration won’t see it either.
